Highlights: The must-see attractions in the capital city of Hanoi, the villages in the Red River Delta and 3-day cruise in Halong Bay, the World Natural Heritage site aboard the Au Co Luxury Cruise. The tour also include a visit to local tea house/or cafe, one lunch at a restaurant fitted out as if it is a small museum of 1976-86 period with various objects once common in people's lives; and a private folk song performance with opportunity to interact with local people.

Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Hanoi                
Upon arrival in Hanoi, pick up by driver and transfer to your hotel in the downtown.

Day 2: Hanoi - Free Day of Leisure
Discover the most charming city in Asia on your own and enjoy one hour of Vietnamese body massage at Santal Spa next to the hotel 

In the late afternoon, you will enjoy a cyclo ride for 1 hour touring through the narrow, chaotic streets of the Old Quarter - a must for any visitor to Hanoi. Thence have tickets for a traditional performance of the famous Vietnamese water puppets

Day 3: Hanoi City Highlights Tour
This city tour of Hanoi takes in essential sites which will commence from your hotel lobby at 08.30 am. In the morning, you'll visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex including the Mausoleum, his former stilt-house residence, the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh Museum; the Temple of Literature - Vietnam’s first university dating back to 1070. 

Your lunch will be at a Food Shop which is fitted out as if it is a small museum of 1976-86 period with various objects once common in people's lives. In the afternoon, you'll continue visiting the Museum of Ethnology, widely acknowledged as the best in the country, containing an extensive display of life-size structures dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minority groups; Ngoc Son Temple and Hoan Kiem Lake - the Ngoc Son Temple is set on a tiny island on Hoan Kiem Lake, its history dating back to the 13th century. The day finishes with a cup of Vietnamese coffee at a small cafe overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake (OR at a local Tea house in a small street which serves high quality speciality and traditional tea of Vietnam).

Day 4: Explore Handicraft Villages in the Red River Delta
After breakfast, an hour drive along the dyke road will take you through the local countryside to Bat Trang, a village world renowned for its fine ceramics. You will stroll through the village with your local guide and see the artisans at work. Witness the process of molding and carving clay pots, dishes and vases, before they are glazed and fired in a kiln, ready for sale. You also visit Bat Trang ceramics market and workshops.

Afterward, drive to visit But Thap Pagoda, the cradle of Vietnamese Buddhism with unique architecture, followed by the village of Dong Ho, famous for the ancient painting technique of wood block printing. Folk painting is one of the special cultural features of Vietnam. 

Finally arrive at a small rural village where you will enjoy a traditional Quan Ho music performance by villagers in front of the commune house. The singers was officially designated as part of Vietnam’s ‘living heritage’ and the Quan Ho music has been recognized as World's Intangible Heritage. In the late afternoon, you’ll return to Hanoi.

Day 5: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Lan Ha Bay
The first day of your cruise provides an introduction to the amazing scenery of Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay. Cruising through Halong Bay will literally take your breath away. Depart from Tuan Chau, meet the on board team and receive a safety briefing. Acquaint yourself with the five elements cuisine with lunch on board, while the Au Co cruises leisurely towards to Lan Ha Bay area. Enjoy your time at Three Peaches Beach (Ba Trai Dao) for swimming in the emerald waters and other recreational activities on the beach 
Back to the Au Co to join a Cooking demonstration then enjoy Happy Hour with “Buy One Get One Free”: Beer, House wine (by the glass), Soft drinks, Long drinks, Cocktails... Savour our five elements signature dinner of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. After that, you could relax with a drink at Lan Ha bar or enjoy squid fishing from the main deck with crew members. The boat will anchor for the night in a peaceful location.

Day 6: 
Halong Bay – Lan Ha Bay and Cat Ba island
Start the day with Tai Chi - physical movements designed for relaxation, balance and health - on the sundeck of the boat while enjoying the panorama.

After breakfast, take a short guided tour to visit Sung Sot (Surprise) Cave - one of the most beautiful cave in Halong Bay. Then, come back to the boad and take a tour of the Captain's Bridge and the Engine Room. After that, savour a delicious lunch in the Halong Restaurant while the ship cruises towards Lan Ha Bay and Cat Ba Island for a guided biking or hiking excursion in the national park of Cat Ba Island and visit of the Au Co Organic Farm. Another option for visiting the island and the organic farm is to use the electric cart service available (at a bit of extra cost). After that, kayak and swim in Viet Hai Lagoon.

Back to The Au Co to enjoy an extended Happy Hour for two hours (drinks at half-price). Try the barbeque buffet in the restaurant while the boat is at anchor. The day ends with a drink at Lan Ha bar or join our crew and try squid fishing on the deck. Last but not least for the day, join our kitchen staff for a fun fruit carving sessions.

Day 7: 
Bai Tu Long Bay - Hanoi 
Halong Bay, designated a UNESCO world heritage site for its limestone rock formations, is home to about 2,000 isles and islets of different shapes and sizes, creating a truly breath-taking seascape. Halong Bay is also attractive for beautiful beaches on the small islands. Awake early and join the Tai Chi session on the sundeck or enjoy the breath-taking views of the bay while the Au Co cruises leisurely in Halong Bay. 

After breakfast on board, visit the Vung Vieng by rowing traditional bamboo boats for about an 01 hour. Then, go back onboard to prepare for check out: your bags must be put in the corridor. You can also join a Vietnamese traditional tea ceremony. Finally, the ship disembarks in Tuan Chau and return to Hanoi.
