Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Hanoi - Cuc Phuong National Park - Van Long - Ninh Binh

After breakfast, a 3,5 hours road trip through picturesque countryside and agricultural land will take you Cuc Phuong. Arriving in Cuc Phuong National Park's Headquarter, you will the renowned Endangered Primate Rescue Centre to see some of the rarest apes and monkeys in the world and learn about the conservation efforts to save them.
After lunch at the Park's canteen, you’ll drive into the core zone for a 7km hike to learn about the variety of fauna and flora of the forest in fresh atmosphere. Visit Cho trees - the huge ones would take ten arms length in circumference.

Drive to Ninh Binh with en-route visit the Van Long Nature Reserve. Once we arrive, you will then board the local rowing sampan for about 1.5 hours cruise along this beautiful nature area, enjoying spectacular scenery of rice paddies and towering limestone mountain peaks. The ride takes you across a shallow lake and through the complex of mountains that form the reserve. There will also be opportunities to see different kinds of birds and the Delacur langur. Van Long is quieter than other parts of this region as it is away the usual tourist’s path. This allows us to better appreciate the beauty of this place. Overnight in Ninh Binh City.

Day 2: Ninh Binh - Hoa Lu - Tam Coc - Hanoi
After breakfast, you'll drive to Hoa Lu. On arrival, your guide will lead you through this ancient complex which formed the capital city of Vietnam under both the Dinh and Le Dynasties between 968 and 1009 AD. King Dinh Tien Hoang chose this mountain location as the water systems fed from the mountains were perfect for both agriculture and defense. Enjoy the sight of palaces, pagodas, tombs and pavilions built by different dynasties and visit the Dinh and Le Temples, the two remaining architectures of Hoa Lu.
From there, drive to Tam Coc for a three hour sampan ride along the waterways of Tam Coc. Known locally as the ‘Halong Bay of the land,’ this winding river way is dotted with gorgeous limestone karsts with  endless photo opportunities. You will also visit Bich Dong Pagoda comprising three pagodas located at different levels on a green mountain.
After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll return to Hanoi, arriving in the late afternoon.
