1-day Trip

A Private Day Trip to Ben Tre from Ho Chi Minh City
At 8.00am, depart for a 1.5 hour drive to Ben Tre, one of the country's southern provinces, situated in the Delta of the Mekong River. Take in the highway as you leave behind the busy city. Pass Rach Mieu bridge before reaching Huu Dinh hamlet. Get on a tri-motor cycle (xe loi) ride to enjoy the lush surroundings of rice paddies and fruit farms alongside the narrow village roads. Arrive at the waterfront, board the charming Mango Cruise for a glimpse at the Delta scenery while enjoying coconut juice. Make a first stop at a small brick workshop where the locals still use centuries-old traditional methods to make the bricks by hand.

Then you will head back to your boat to cross the An Hoa River, where you will start a Bicycle trip around Phong Nam village around 4km, on the way stop for a visit at the local house where they live on coconuts processing. Continue the bike ride through gardens and stop at the a rice noodles factory “hu tieu”, one of most popular breakfast dishes in the region. Walk about 3 minutes to visit at Mrs. Huong’s home. Her family live on fishing, shrimp and farming. Enjoy the tropical fruits and honey tea in her garden before taking the rowing  sampan, be paddled by a personalized rower trip to discover the maze of small canals.

Then rowing you back to your mango boat and head to Mango home restaurant, enjoy your 5 course lunch and freshen up before switch to a bicycle and ride 500m About 4 minutes( or 7-10 minute walk) on village roads past green gardens and local houses, and stop at another local house of Mr Sau Tuong, a former Vietcong soldier who survived two years fighting the Khmer Rouge in Phnom Penh. Now he and his wife live on making rice paper which is the most famous specialty of My Long village. Have a chat with him and enjoy the crispy rice paper made by his wife, and see how it is made.

After the visit, the boat will be waiting for you at the pier nearby to bring you back to Ben Tre city where your car will be ready to take you back to Ho Chi Minh City. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City around 06 PM.

2-day Trip

Route: My Tho - Mo Cay - Vam Nuoc Trong - Cho Thom (Mo Cay) All rates are quoted per person/ private boat. Prices are valid from 1st Oct, 2013 to 30th Sep, 2014.
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - My Tho - Mo Cay
Upon arrival, you will board your Mango cruise boat at Chuong Duong Pier and head to An Hoa River. Enjoy your welcome drink and peaceful scenery while crew members board your luggage.  The cruise will take you to Phong Nam village in Giong Trom, where you will take a rowing sampan boat through the small canals, which are covered green by the water coconut plants.

Stop at a local house to taste the tropical fruits and chat with the farmer. Visit the rice noodle factory before starting your bike trip around the village. Relax and enjoy lunch at Mango Restaurant .Then continue your cycling trip to My Long to visit Mr Sau Tuong, a former Vietcong soldier who survived two years fighting the Khmer Rouge in Phnom Penh. Now he and his wife live on making rice paper which is the most famous specialty of My Long village. Have a chat with him and enjoy the crispy rice paper made by his wife, and see how it is made.

Continue to  visit the nearby house of Mr Hung, who is a famous sticky rice maker in the village. You can also feed his stock of catfish and walk through his fruit garden before getting back on the boat and continuing to cruise to Mo cay district on Ham Luong river. Arrive Vam nuoc Trong cannals in late afternoon and enjoy the sunset.
Relax and prepare for the cooking demonstration and dinner onboard .

Overnight will be spent onboard at Vam Nuoc Trong cannals.

Day 2: Vam Nuoc Trong - Cho Thom (Mo Cay) - Ho Chi Minh City
In the morning, breakfast will be served on board before starting to explore Mo cay wet market .  Then continue to visit at the coconut processing workshop where you can see how the locals utilize every bit of the coconut. Then take the biking trip long the cannals to Thom market to explore more of the local life style. Stop for a visit at the sugar factory where the local produce sugar from the sugar cans in the traditional way.After that get back to the cruise, refresh and prepare to check out  for your onwards trip to Can Tho or head back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Route: Ben Tre - Cho Lach - Sa Dec - Cho Moi - Chau Doc All rates are quoted per person/ private boat. Prices are valid from 1st Oct, 2013 to 30th Sep, 2014.
Day 1: Ben Tre - Cho Lach - Sa Dec
Depart from Ben Tre along the Ham Luong River to Cho Lach canals.  Upon boarding your private sampan, your luggage will be brought to your cabin, while you enjoy a refreshing welcome cocktail on the deck while meeting your crewmembers and enjoying the scenery and fresh air from the water.

Next, head towards Cai Nhum Village, starting to cycle throughout the orchards and along the smaller canals. Stop for a visit at Cai Nhum local Catholic Church and enjoy the bike ride on the suspension bridge, crossing to the other side of the canals.

Head back to the boat and lunch will be served on board while you are cruising to Vinh Long province.  On the way we will stop for a visit at the floating fish farm and experience the local river culture.

Getting back on the boat and cruising towards the town of Sa Dec, and you will start to explore this charming town, where it is the backdrop for the film ‘The Lover’, based on the semi-autobiographical novel by Marguerite Duras.  The story is about a teenage French girl who falls in love with a wealthy Chinese man, Huynh Thuy Le.  You will visit his old family home as well as the high school where Marguerite’s mother was a teacher.  You will also visit the beautiful Temple Kien An.

In the late afternoon prepare for dinner onboard.  The rest of the night may be spent at your leisure.  Overnight will be spent onboard in Sa Dec Province.

Day 2: Sa Dec - Cho Moi
Breakfast will be served onboard and you will begin the morning with cycling through the village of An Phu Dong.  For hundreds of years this village has provided Saigon with its daily flower supply.

Return to your boat, freshen up, and relax.  Start cruising to Cho Moi.  On the way we will stop to explore more of the local villages by bike.  Lunch will be served onboard.

After lunch, you can bike through one more village, cross the monkey bridges, and chat with the cheerful local kids.

As you continue cruising, you will start to notice more houses on stilts and an increase of flooded fields. This area is prone to severe flooding and as a result, is one of the Delta’s poorest regions.

Head back to your boat and prepare for the cooking demonstration and dinner on board. Overnight will be spent onboard by Vien Island. Spend the remainder of the evening at your leisure

Day 3: Cho Moi - Chau Doc
Start the morning with breakfast on board and while cruising to Chau Doc. On the way we will stop to visit the local villages, including an old temple of the region.  Continue cruising to Vam Nao, visit the Cham Islamic village in Chau Giang, one of the biggest Muslim towns in Vietnam where the locals speak both Vietnamese and Cham languages. They read the Quran in Arabic and, of course, all the men in the village wish to travel to Mecca once in their lifetime.  You will visit the Mubarak Mosque, which is one of the mosques in the Chau Doc area.

The cruise will then make its way to the pier in Chau Doc town, where you will be dropped off.  At this point you can either return to Saigon via private car, or continue on to Phnom Penh by boat.
